Psychotherapy for Individuals

Services

I provide weekly therapy sessions for individual adults and teens. Currently I am meeting with all clients virtually. Here are the steps you can expect to take on the therapeutic journey with me:

Consult Call

Free 20-minute phone call to see if my services are a good fit for you and schedule our first session. Request appointment through the Client Portal and I will call you!

Client Portal

Before our intake session, login to the client portal to complete paperwork and assessments. This is also where you can view shared documents, manage appointments, and join telehealth sessions.

Intake Session

Our first 50-minute session to review new client paperwork and go through an intake interview. Fee for intake session is $175.

Weekly Sessions

We will meet weekly for 50-minute sessions, although there may be seasons where it makes sense for us to meet more (twice a week) or less (bi-weekly). Fee for regular session is $150.

Ending Session

When our work comes to an end, it will be based on our mutual agreement and sometimes due to factors like clients moving out of state, schedule limitations, etc. We’ll meet for a final session to provide closure, reflect and celebrate together, and send you off well.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • During our 20-minute phone call, we will discuss your reason for therapy, answer whatever questions you might have, go over fees and scheduling, and schedule an intake session. If we discover I am not the right fit, I will try to offer referrals that will better suit your needs.

  • I am an out-of-network (OON) provider with all insurance companies. If you have an insurance plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement for a portion of the cost of services. The amount of money you get back varies based on your plan. Contact your insurance company directly to learn about your OON benefits.

  • After filling out the Client Insurance Form in the client portal, I’ll be able to submit out-of-network claims on your behalf in most cases. You may have to submit claims yourself, and I can provide you with a superbill.

  • A superbill shows an itemized list of services from working with. me. It's like a detailed invoice or receipt. I can provide you with a superbill — a specific document required by an insurance company — that allows you to seek reimbursement from your insurance.

  • Yes! Alissa Swank Counseling accepts HSA/FSA plans if it is affiliated with a credit card. You just need to add this form of payment to the Payment Authorization Form in the portal.

  • I reserve some spots in my practice for students and those who qualify for a sliding scale fee. Please ask me if you are in need and we can explore options.

  • You can cancel or reschedule an appointment anytime, as long as you provide 48 hours notice. If you cancel an appointment with less than 48 hours notice, or do not show up for a session, you will be charged the full session fee. I always try to see if we can reschedule in the same week to avoid late cancellation fees.

  • If you do not have insurance that you intend to use for services, it is your right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE). A GFE is an estimate of the cost of services, and is available to you upon scheduling our first appointment, or upon request. Learn more about the No Surprises Act.
